Police responded to a call that a woman had been shot this morning shortly after 2:00 a.m. The shooting occurred at 4th Street and 2nd Avenue, near the alley behind Pizza Luce. The victim was sent to Hennepin County Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. On June 21st, there was another shooting outside Pizza Luce, also around 2:00 a.m. A man was talking on his cell phone when someone shot it out of his hand. A District Court Judge in Pittsburgh last week sentenced a former US Airways Express pilot to nine months in prison for selling a powdered drink mix that he claimed would completely mask the effects of  drugs and alcohol. By doing so, the product would enable pilots, train engineers and truck drivers to pass federal drug tests even though they were users. Stress has long been considered a factor for heart disease but now researchers have found an accurate way to measure it. Researchers at the University of Western Ontario found they can use the amount of cortisol, the stress hormone, in the hair as a way to measure stress levels prior to a heart attack.
