Cheese stuffed mushroomsThese cheese stuffed mushrooms can be made with large portobello mushrooms for a sit-down appetizer or with the baby bellas for an appetizer that you just pop in your mouth. Creamy, cheesy, with a hint of spring onion tang, it's a simple addition to any buffet.
Choose whole portobellos that are not cracked or broken. They are your vessel for all of that oozing cheese. The mascarpone can be substituted with cream cheese. You can use light cream cheese for that but I wouldn't use nonfat. It has an unfortunate way of separating.

Our survival depends on one another's well-being and the well-being of the good earthImages of oil-drenched pelicans, vacant tar strewn beaches, and closed for business signs from the gulf oil spill this summer left no doubt that we human beings are not set apart from nature; like it or not, we are embedded within the ecological web of relationships along with all living creatures. In his 1952 novella, the Old Man and the Sea, Ernest Hemingway effectively portrayed both the predator-prey violence inherent in nature’s food chains as well as our universal interdependence. Far out in the Gulf Stream, Santiago, an old Cuban fisherman, considers his plight: “I do not...

The Real Cost of Polaris Closing the Osceola PlantMuch has been made of the some 500 jobs lost in this small Wisconsin border town. We’ve read about the personal losses and the anticipated impact on city’s merchants. But these losses aside, the true impact of such a closing is staggering.

Polaris purchases significant quantities of metal from several metal fabricating centers in the Twin Cities totaling millions of dollars. Now Polaris may continue its vendor contracts with...
Crispy chicken saladThis crispy chicken salad is a cinch to prepare. And unlike packaged chicken nuggets, you know exactly what is in the chicken - nothing but lightly crisped, white-meat chicken breasts. Set it on a bed of baby lettuces, ripe tomatoes, cucumbers and green peppers and the crispy chicken salad becomes a meal.
You don't need a deep fryer to crisp the chicken. One-half inch of oil in a medium skillet will do. Dipped in a mixture of egg and milk and breaded with whole wheat Panko (you can use regular breadcrumbs), the chicken crisps quickly and dinner is on the table in less than 30 minutes....

When they unveiled the cake, it looked like a city with a train running through it.
During that episode, they also made a cake for a retiring fire captain. It was decorated with an axe. a...
